An Advanced Surgery Center Providing Wilmington With Lasting Results
Our Wilmington office is home to a state-of-the-art surgical center, operated by our knowledgeable ophthalmologists. While optometrists can offer eye exams, diagnose eye diseases, and assess your candidacy for laser eye surgeries, only ophthalmologists can actually perform all types of eye surgery.
Some of the common diseases our ophthalmologists can treat include glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.
We also offer injections for retinal issues, vascular eye diseases, and diabetic eye treatment. Additionally, our ophthalmologists conduct refractive surgery designed to correct your vision, like LASIK and PRK.
And of course, for those who need a simple optometry exam, we offer vision tests, complete with glasses and contact prescriptions.

Updated Vision Prescriptions
Depending on their needs, patients typically visit our optometrists, opticians, and ophthalmologists every one to three years. If you have an eye disease like cataracts or are 65 or older, you will likely need to visit our optometry team for annual eye exams.

Eye Surgery You Can't Get at an Optometry Office
Sutureless Retina Surgery
Our eye doctors can perform retina surgery without needing to close the area with sutures. This type of treatment can be used for eye conditions like retinal detachment. Typically, this technique results in an easier and even faster recovery time for patients.
No-Stitch Cataract Surgery
Cataracts are one of the most common conditions that our eye doctors treat. If you're diagnosed with cataracts during a regular eye exam or a screening, we can treat the condition with less-invasive no-stitch cataract surgery.
Refractive Eye Surgery
Are you tired of getting new eyeglasses every year or spending money on contacts? Instead of visiting an optometrist to renew your vision prescription, you can visit an ophthalmologist for laser eye surgery. They offer several types of eye surgery to improve your vision with lasting results, like PRK and LASIK.
Making Our Optometry Patients Happier and Healthier
My experience at Eye Physicians and Surgeons with Dr. O. was excellent!
My first time ever getting contacts was at first intimidating, but the staff was so professional and knowledgeable and especially Dr. O., that I felt comfortable learning how to properly handle and care for my contacts. Also, Dr. O. spent extra time helping me fine-tune exactly which prescription was perfect for my vision needs.
I could not recommend this doctor enough… Wonderful!
I had my cataract surgery done on the first eye, yesterday. It was an amazing experience. Everyone at the Center for Advanced Surgical Arts was professional & friendly. Dr. Minkovitz did a great job of preparing me for what to expect, talked to me immediately afterward and followed up with a phone call last night, and an office visit today. The actual procedure was quick and painless. By evening, I was already seeing so much better & there were no symptoms from the surgery. I can't get over how bright the colors seem to be. Vision in that eye is already significantly better that before with glasses. I can't wait to have to second eye done in 3 weeks.
