Top Docs Work Here!
We all like being associated with the top of the line, the best of the group, the leader of the pack. You will find at Eye Physicians and Surgeons that 2 of our doctors have been named Top Doc 2017 in their chosen specialty. Therefore EPS congratulates Carolyn Glazer-Hockstein, M.D., and Jeffrey B. Minkovitz, M.D. for this accomplishment.
The complete list of Top Docs 2017 can be found in the October 2017 issue of Delaware Today magazine beginning on page 56.
When you turn to page 61 you will find an article that quotes Dr. Glazer's advice on how to take good care of your eyes. The message here is to take good care of yourself - what you eat is very important as well as obtaining and maintaining control of your blood sugar and cholesterol. Weighing in at a healthy level, exercising regularly, and keeping the smoke out of your eyes are part of her message. Yes, smoke in your eyes can be harmful to your vision. The article talks about the most common ocular maladies Dr. Glazer treats, some of which are not curable, however there are treatments to slow the disease process. It would be valuable to read the remainder of this article in Delaware Today. Keep in mind the good news that new medications and treatments are available. Dr. Glazer tells us "It is a much more hopeful time for people with these diseases."
Dr. Minkovitz is known by Delawareans and beyond as founder of Laser Vision Delaware, LLC which brought the new technology of vision correction that is faster and more accurate. He also made this unique technology available to other surgeons which broadens the opportunity for more individuals to experience unique vision improvement. At EPS Dr. Minkovitz screens for and treats a variety of eye disease. His routine surgical procedures include cataract surgery, corneal transplants and premium lens implants for astigmatism correction. He is thought of as conservative yet meticulous in his procedures and is highly respected.
